Intro
We are proud to announce an IOTA/DXCC expedition to Shif Island (AS-189, New One) in Persian gulf in Islamic Republic of Iran, dedicated to 25th anniversary of the Russian Robinson Club.
Due to the unstable geopolitical situation in this region it is very difficult to obtain a license and permissions for the island activations. Only after a long time, with the direct support of EP2LMA (President of EP2C DX Club) autorities of the Communication Regulatory Authority (CRA) and preliminary visits to the island, we were able to obtain permission to work on the air.
About the island
Shif island (Jazireh-ye Shif) is located in the Persian gulf in the southwestern part of Iran in the province of Bushehr. In the north of the island there is a village. At the 2011 census, its population was 4200, in 521 families. The island is connected by road to the mainland.

Plans
We plan to be active on the air for 7 days with 3 radio on 160, 80, 40, 30, 20, 17, 15 and 10 meters band in CW, SSB and FT8 modes.
We will be operating in FT-8 Dxpedition mode on the following freq.: 3.567, 7.056, 10.131, 14.090, 18.095, 21.091.
Due to the unstable propagation the special attention will be paid to difficult and distant directions - North America and Far East / Oceania.
If there are no problems with the Internet, we will update our log every day.
