Brusneva Island is a small island in the Lapteva Sea. It's located in the Bay of Tiksi 5 km away. Dimensions of the island are 1 by 2 km.

The commander of the schooner "Zarya" FA Mathisen named the island in 1903 in honor of the Russian polar expedition engineer Mikhail Ivanovich Brusnev, who have created a detailed map of the island of New Siberia. There is the obelisk to him is located on the island..
